NeoGen Plasma: The Non-Surgical Facelift

The groundbreaking science behind NeoGen Plasma makes it different from other treatments in several important ways. NeoGen Plasma is the first and only treatment clinically proven to regenerate skin. 100% of the skin is treated, initiating regeneration deep below the surface and remodeling a natural skin architecture.

NeoGen Plasma is a dramatically different, safe, and clinically proven skin regeneration treatment. New, healthier, natural collagen growth will improve contours, tighten your skin, and enhance your overall appearance. Clinical studies have shown improvement for as long as two years after treatment. The results are dramatic improvements in fine and deep wrinkles, acne scars, skin laxity, and discoloration, as well as poor skin tone and texture.

SKIN REGENERATION

NeoGen PSR works wonders by treating the surface and complete architecture of the skin. This amazing approach triggers a cascade of Neo-collagenization, which promotes the regeneration of the reticular layers of the skin.

SKIN TIGHTENING

The NeoGen PSR uses a special pulse to heat and tighten your skin instantly. This leads to immediate tissue contraction, giving you noticeably higher and more effective skin. You can achieve a more youthful and lifted appearance with targeted thermal energy.

SKIN RESURFACING

Achieve skin resurfacing without harming the skin’s protective layer, resulting in controlled shedding of the epidermis and upper dermis can lead to effective skin resurfacing!

The NeoGen Process Explained

An image of Neogen device.
Stage One
  • Thermal energy is applied to the skin
  • Skin is disrupted
  • Tissue contracts and the skin tissue is awakened
Stage Two
  • Natural wound response begins to work
  • Skin is made to think there is a wound
  • Skin starts its repair process
Stage Three
  • Skin starts to repair the outer layer (epidermis) by generating new cells to repair the damaged one
  • Skin left with improved tone and texture, giving the skin a smoother and more uniform look while ensuring the skin is healthier
  • This process resurfaces the skin
Stage Four
  • The next layer of skin is stimulated into action.
  • The dermis and fibroblasts get to work producing collagen and kick into repairing the skin
  • Thermal energy applied also creates a disruption of the solar elastosis; this damage caused by the skin causes wrinkles and
    thicker skin
  • The elastin in the skin is also remodeled during the process, creating a tightening effect and reducing the appearance of wrinkles

What is the Plasma Pen?

The Plasma Pen is the world’s leading FDA-cleared plasma application device. It is a non-invasive fibroblasting sublimation treatment suitable for delicate skin areas.

Using a continuous source of direct energy, the Plasma Pen ionizes nitrogen and oxygen in the air to create a plasma gas. A small plasma flash is emitted from the handpiece and applied to the treatment area, creating micro-injuries on the top layer of the skin.

The Plasma Pen encourages the skin to produce collagen and tighten, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, loose skin, and pigmentation.

What can I expect during my Plasma Pen treatment?

The average treatment lasts 20—30 minutes, with a 30-minute pre-treatment application of topical numbing gel, and is mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Anesthetics may also be used during the procedure.

The Plasma Pen treatment is ideal for candidates with Fitzpatrick skin types I, II and III. Skin types IV—VI are not compatible with this treatment.

How can I prepare for my Plasma Pen treatment?

For 4–6 weeks prior to the treatment, the patient should follow these guidelines:

  • Limit exposure to the sun; avoid tanning and tanning beds
  • Avoid any other procedures (such as Botox or Laser therapies)
  • Discontinue the use of topical Retin-A, vitamin C serum, and chemical peels
  • If possible, pretreat skin with a tyrosinase inhibitor, as recommended by your doctor

Patients must remove eyelash extensions and contact lenses 72 hours before the treatment. If the treatment is performed in the eye area, patients should wear eyeglasses at home.

Please notify your doctor if you have any allergies or pre-existing medical conditions.

What can I expect after the procedure?

The initial healing process lasts 3–7 days and may result in some minor swelling, dryness, or tightness. Small crusts will appear on the treated area; avoid picking at them, as this will increase the healing time.

During the healing process, the patient must not apply bandages, ice packs, makeup, or non-doctor-prescribed products to the skin. Cleanse daily with lukewarm water and a lint-free cloth. Avoid direct exposure in the shower.

It is advisable to not exercise for 7 days following the treatment, as sweat, heat, or steam may add to the swelling.

Until completely healed from the procedure, avoid using any exfoliating skincare (such as products with glycolic acid) to avoid irritation. Make sure to always apply a doctor-approved SPF when outdoors and avoid direct sun exposure.

Full recovery can take from several weeks to several months, depending on the patient. Avoid tanning and saunas for 10–12 weeks (longer if possible) following the treatment.

What should I expect from the results?

Patients can expect to see decreased wrinkles and fine lines, less pigmentation, and an overall rejuvenation of the skin. Results will appear as the patient heals from the procedure, usually taking several months to see the final result. The results from the Plasma Pen can last several years.

Patients with skin conditions will be treated on a per-client basis and may need a consent form from their doctor. If the patient has received a surgical treatment within the past 6 months, they must first consult with their doctor.

Patients who use the following medications might experience a longer healing time with increased bleeding, bruising, sensitivity, or risk of infection:

  • Inhaler (asthma)
  • Insulin (diabetes)
  • Thyroxin (thyroid disorders)
  • Aspirin, ibuprofen (swelling, pain)

NeoGen Plasma vs Plasma Pen: What's the Difference?

NeoGen Plasma treatment and Plasma Pen treatment are both innovative procedures designed to rejuvenate the skin and address various cosmetic concerns, but they differ in their technology and application. NeoGen Plasma treatment utilizes a device that delivers controlled bursts of plasma energy to the skin’s surface, stimulating collagen production and promoting tissue regeneration. This non-invasive procedure is effective for reducing wrinkles, tightening loose skin, and improving overall skin texture.

On the other hand, Plasma Pen treatment involves the precise application of plasma energy using a handheld device with a fine-tipped probe. This technique targets specific areas with greater precision, making it suitable for treating delicate areas such as around the eyes and lips. While both treatments offer impressive results with minimal downtime, the choice between them often depends on the patient’s specific concerns and desired outcomes.
