Summer is coming to a close, and with that come last minute vacations, back to school, and that last trip out on the boat or motorcycle. With all of this activity, it’s easy to forget about protecting your skin. In the summer months it is more important than ever to properly care for your skin! The combination of high ultraviolet rays and exposed skin can wreak havoc if you aren’t prepared. Even if you don’t get sunburns, the effects of sun exposure can lead to signs of aging such as brown spots and wrinkles–or worse, cancer.
At Pellé we’re here to address any of your skin care concerns. Thankfully, summer skin care can be easy and make a world of difference for the long term health of your skin.
- Summer activity is good for staying fit, but the beach isn’t the cleanest place you could be. Try to wash your face twice daily and follow it with a toner. Finish the regimen with a moisturizer suited for your skin type.
- Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, especially when you are outside.
- Protect your skin from wrinkles and age spots with a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher. By applying it 15-30 minutes prior to sun exposure, you can block many of those harmful rays. Just because it’s starting to cool down doesn’t mean you won’t burn!
- Wear protective clothing. Hats protect your scalp and movie star sunglasses don’t just look good, they cover sensitive areas around the eye that can always be reached by sunscreen. If it’s not too hot out, long pants and dresses can work wonders too.
