Every New Year, resolutions are made, and we understand how hard it can be to keep up with all of them. Some of the more popular resolutions include getting in shape, losing weight, eating right, and exercising. You may set your sights on one of these resolutions to increase confidence or enhance your personal life. Sometimes, despite your best efforts, stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise can be discouraging and feel like it’s holding you back from achieving your resolutions.

With CoolSculpting, we target certain areas of fat on the body that are harder to get rid of with just diet and exercise. Sometimes you just need a little extra help to achieve your body goals, and we are here to help get you there! See common CoolSculpting questions and find out if this treatment is ideal for you.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical body contouring treatment. Using a cooling treatment known as cryolipolysis, CoolSculpting targets areas of subcutaneous fat. The cold temperature breaks down the fat cells, and they are naturally eliminated by the body. These fat cells are permanently destroyed but new cells can grow in their place. CoolSculpting machines come with different applicators to treat different areas.

What areas can be treated with CoolSculpting fat reduction?

The most common treatment areas include:

  • Abdomen
  • Flank
  • Thighs
  • Back
  • Upper arms
  • Double Chin
  • Buttocks

How long do treatments take?

Treatments vary from patient to patient. They depend upon how many areas are being treated at one time and how large the treatment area is. Similarly, treatment plans vary between patients. Although, multiple treatments are generally recommended for optimal results.* Furthermore, it is advised to start treatments a few months before your goal deadline. So whether it be that you are seeking CoolSculpting treatments for wedding season or summer vacation, plan accordingly!

Similar to workout regimens that take time to reveal results, beach bodies are made in the winter when it comes to CoolSculpting with results occurring gradually over a 6-12 week timeframe.* This timeframe will vary depending on your adherence to the recommended treatment and area(s) being treated.

Who is a good candidate for body contouring?

Generally, you want to be close to your goal weight when undergoing cryolipolysis. Ideal patients only have a 20-30 pounds to lose, pockets of stubborn fat in the aforementioned areas that are hard to get rid of with diet and exercise.

If you do not keep up a healthy diet and exercise plan, CoolSculpting may be ineffective and new subcutaneous fat may appear. CoolSculpting also only treats pinchable fat on the body. It cannot treat visceral fat, the harder fat that gathers around the organs.
