I took the plunge and got a lower face Ultherapy treatment.
Long gone are the days of the waiting until you feel wrinkly and saggy and then going under the for a surgical facelift; (which can often make one look as if they are in a wind tunnel). With amazing technologies and products on the market, woman (including me) are taking the plunge early with more preventative, “natural” ways of slowing down the aging process.
Ultherapy doesn’t replace a facelift!
I’m definitely not facelift material, but have just enough mild sag to give Ultherapy a shot. With Ultherapy’s excellent safety profile and knowing that people only need one treatment to see results, it seemed like a no brainer to me! LET’S SLOW THIS AGING THING DOWN.
My concern has always been that I did not want to look “done” or like one of “The Real Housewives”. Jeanne, our Nurse Practitioner assured me there was no chance of over-correction with Ultherapy.
Ultherapy is ultrasound heat directed at the collagen causing micro-injury to the collagen, thereby creating new collagen, tightening and lifting.
While Ultherapy won’t duplicate the results of a facelift, it’s a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those not ready for surgery—and can even be an option for patients who wish to extend the effects of cosmetic surgery.
Some patients see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the real results appear over 2−3 months as new collagen works to lift and tighten skin on the neck, chin and brow as well as smooth skin on the chest.
The treatment (Does it hurt?)
I would describe the treatment as uncomfortable, although I did not have the topical numbing cream. Other clients who did have the numbing cream, said it was helpful. It felt like a rubber band hitting me face. The good news was that there was just some mild soreness in the days after.
The results have been great! About three weeks after the procedure I really started to notice some gradual tightening, and then gradual lift. I am two months out and I love my face. The small lines that caught my attention EVERYTIME I looked in the mirror, no longer catch my attention. My smile lines have decreased which is funny because I feel very happy.
50 feels pretty good.
